Reveal yourself!

1. Leave one memory that you and I (or you and Allen) have had together as a comment on this post. It doesn't matter if you know me a little or a lot--just leave a comment about anything you can remember!

2. Next, copy and paste these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you.

And if you're just a "blog stalker" that I don't know very well, please use this as an excuse to comment and say hello!

My favorite memory of Noreen was when we (me, Mehana and Noreen) had a sleepover at Noreen's house. Noreen's mom noticed that Mehana showed up with a few rolls of toilet paper. When asked, Mehana told Sis. Carey that she had the runs. To which, Sis. Carey gave us explicit instructions that we were not to leave the house that night. We ended up heeding those instructions and we TP'd the INSIDE of the Carey home. We made TP drapes, bows etc etc. We even TP'd ourselves so as to suggest that someone else must have been responsible for the mess--it couldn't have been us!! We were so clever.

My favorite memory of Noreen is when Don announced that we were engaged. we showed up at the house around 9:00 p.m. She was already in bed, so someone went and woke her up. She shows up with her scriptures thinking it is already the next morning. She was ready for scripture study.

Okay, I'll admit to stalking your blog! haha I think the first time I met you was at the Priest/Laurel Overnighter last year, although I didn't really get to know you then! I hope you had a great time at camp, I got to visit a few times, wish I'd been there all week!

One of my favorite memories of Noreen was when she was in the 6th grade (I think...). I was in college and went on a school field trip with her to the International Marketplace in Waikiki. Noreen, her friends and I all got matching dolphin bracelets. Of course there was also the time she got her hand caught in the coin return of a video game. :) It "spit" her quarter out and she reached in and grabbed that quarter and made a fist around it. She was certain that if she relaxed her fist she would loose the quarter. Hence, she couldn't get her hand out.

No, no Karra! I remember that too. I was only three or four at the time and all you older kids were with me. I didn't want to let go because I thought you guys were trying to trick me. If I let go of the quarter and pulled my hand out, I was sure one of you would grab it and take it away from me. It made perfect sense in my little kid brain. I COULDN'T let go!

OK, I'm slow here. But I've had so many memories to think through. ;-)

I remember Noreen was very shy as a toddler. We went to the store, and at the checkout the guy in line ahead of us had jeans on, as did I. Noreen latched onto that guy's pants like there was no tomorrow, and I couldn't even get her to look at me to realize she was holding on to somebody else. Once she figured it out, she jumped from his leg to mine like a little flea.

And to piggy-back on Kara's comment, after we announced "We're getting married!" everyone expressed their surprise and congratulations. But not Noreen. She simply said "Well, I knew that," and stomped back to bed.

But the memory I really want to share is how surprised I was when she asked me to baptize her when she turned 8. It was really neat. Everyone in Laie gets baptized at Temple Beach (the baptismal font in the chapel is used as a storage closet) and it was really special. I just found the picture Noreen gave me with us standing in the ocean and the sunrise behind us. Way cool.

My fave memories of Noreen all involve some form of plot/plan/explanation we concocted- like when we decided one night to meet up at 2am in Laie, and the plan involved a flashlight, some secret knocks, and a key. And I think we snuck out a 2nd time cuz the 1st time didn't go according to plan. Right?? Or when we obsessed over daily horoscopes to tell us about our love lives in the 6th grade, or when we decided to get Noreen a modeling contract and we looked in newspapers and called agencies, dressed up, and took pix. I also remember Reen being a mini babysitting-service-enterprise! Awwww! good memories. :-)
